Just by this I can tell the other guy was right about you not knowing how to value players. You said Provorov is okay as a top D and just said Dillion is top 4
Provorov has way, way more value than Dillion
I’d say Provorov and Scheifele are pretty even. Would be a fair hockey trade if either team needed that. They don’t both sides can debate this till they are blue in the face but there really isn’t much of a difference between what they should realistically haul in with the same GM
Frost and Dillion are probably a wash as well. Frost definitely has more value but basing off the the most recent TDL I’d say they are pretty even.
A good prospect and a 3rd isn’t major difference, but I’d say it’s enough to point out the Jets would win this by more than they should
Just by your reply I can yell that you're using biased judgement in player evaluations. I think we can all agree that Provorov is good, but he is a 2nd pairing defenseman that is being paid as a top pairing defenseman, which hurts his value. Then factor in that Provorov is an LD, which are fairly easy to come by. If he was a right shot D. He would have more value.
Scheifele on the other hand plays the hardest of all positions in hockey to fill, 1C. And does it at a consistent PPG pace over the past 6 seasons. Plus he has a great contract to boot.
So, there is no world in which a relatively easy to find left shot second pairing defenseman has the value of a consistent PPG 1C. That also isn't factoring in that the last thing Winnipeg needs in any trade is a left defenseman.
Frost and Dillon are close to a wash, but a contributing top 4 defenseman is still worth moe than a struggling bottom six player.
A 3rd and a prospect that has pretty much zero chance at making the NHL, don't do anything to close the gap between Scheifele and Provorov.
Winnipeg loses this trade by a landslide, which is why it was proposed by a Flyers fan. When have you ever seen a trade on here where the proposer even tries to give close to fair value for a player they want? What maybe 1 in 100?
Try and judge the value without bias against the Jets. Just look at the players involved.
