i hope you're right because i am a Habs fan. Unlikely they get a first for Jeff so a 2nd is the best option if they don't want to retain more salary cap. They get a serviceable replacement RD with less term and less annual cap hit who they can flip a year later at the deadline for more assets. They also get a 2nd for Allen (above market value) and a better chance at landing a top 3 pick next year.
