Lehner is a bit of a wildcard as he hasn't lived up to his contract recently, and hes 30 years old under contract for 3 more seasons. but he does have some very very good seasons not to long ago, and is a clear upgrade for the oilers (and somehow 10 years younger). I do worry if his mental health is able to live up to the pressure of media and fans in Edmonton?? that might break him. a 5mil boat anchor is something Holland cant afford.

the one team Holland can easily win a trade with? the golden knights. MCcrimmon has put himself in cap hell with the Eichel deal, and will need to dump cap by the boatload. does he need Lehner? that is the real question here. Thompson was great to finish off the year, and Lehner is 30 with 3 years still left at 5m. if they deem him expendable, it shouldnt take much to get him, the pick is only a second to dump the Ryan cap otherwise it would likely be a 3rd/4th

Foegele is there for the cap to be more even. does a last 1st this year, 2nd and 3rd with 2 very good prospects get it done? im not sure, but would be great for a #1 still with only a 4.6mx3 contract, one of the best values in the NHL.
