This team is considerably worse than the one this year. And the solution is to add another 30 year old making big money. Great.

That Blues offer is considerably worse. If you want Tarasenko and Barbashev, you need to offer things the Blues want. Not a cap dump and low in the round draft picks. The Blues are contending, not rebuilding.

This trade is not in a vacuum from the blues point of view. Blues would use space and assets to do other things. Armstrong has always rebuilt while staying competitive - you should know better.

1. Tarasenko and Barby are both better that Kakko right now and neither have ever been a healthy scratch in a deciding playoff game let alone a playoff game period…
2. Panarin would be ecstatic to get to play with Tarasenko.
3. 30 is not old. Panarin is 30…
4. Depth of this team might not be as good as team that just lost, but your top 2 lines are much better.
4. Some people like some things, some people like other things…

It's a terrible offer. It's an offer you send to an actual rebuilding team. Army reloads while contending. He doesn't trade the leading scorer and a 60 point bruiser for futures and a dump.

Any offer the Rangers would make for either Tarasenko or Barby would start with K. Miller. Blues need LHD, no a #2 pick who has done little in the league.
