laugh Dylan Larkin isn't available, And you're not even close to getting him here. Starts with Lafreniere and keep adding.

Andrew Copp isn't signing for anything less than 7 x 5.5.

Get real Alexandar Georgiev isn't returning no 1st round pick.

In no universe is this happening. Not getting a first for Georgie and why would we give a first to SEA?

We would be giving up a lot for Larkin. We should keep Kakko and trade a prospect package of Nils and another and a pick for an established 3C that can play multiple spots.

The Red Wings counter your Larkin trade with this offer.

Filip Zadina, Antti Tuomisto, two other C level prospects and 2 second round picks for Adam Fox. grin

0% chance the Rangers buyout Trouba (he would fetch assets in the trade market), less than 0% chance they get a first for Georgiev and another 0% chance on bringing back Braun. Copp is getting at least $5.5M AAV. Larkin isn't available.

NYR savings in the first 2 years would represent 4.6% and 7.0% of the cap. Penalty in years 5 thru 8 would be 2.4% of the cap at most.

I didn't trade Kaapo for Puljujärvi.

Buying out Trouba is 100x's worse. The only worse idea would be to buy out Shesterkin.

Trouba can't be traded and isn't worth his cap hit. Buyout needs to be considered for this summer and next.

If the Red Wings let Kakko accept an offer sheet after this trade, they'd receive 3 1st Round picks, 1 3rd round pick, Nils Lundqvist (B+ prospect), and some throw ins. How much higher is the ask on Larkin than 3 1sts?

Your statement is absurd.

It's a lot higher because he's valued in Detroit a lot more than just his stats. He's the leader on and off the ice. Who's even going to offer sheet Kakko? He'd have to be offered more than 4.2m to even have a 1st coming back. He's not worth that cap hit. And the pick coming back probably wouldn't be a top 10. Mike Milbury isn't a GM anymore so it won't happen. So the trade would be Larkin for an underachieving former #2 overall pick and two late first rounders. Hard Pass.
