If that ends up being Toronto's goalie situation it's probably not the worst thing in the world. They could likely do better but if they don't want to commit long-term and/or strikeout on other options that's fine.

I'd like more of an upgrade on 2LW. Robertson should prove himself before given handed a top-6 role. That could potentially be a spot to use Sandin to upgrade.

MN fans will disagree with me on this, but I’ve wondered about a Kerfoot-Talbot swap. I think MN would prob need to add a sweetener to balance, so maybe like a mid round pick or so.

I really think Fiala’s absence + regression from guys like Hartman and Foligno has the potential to be pretty painful. I think an all-situations, utility guy like Kerfoot would be useful.

My idea is leafs load up with prospects this off season. 5 picks to get that done. Robertson gets a chance to prove himself in top 6 before adding. Leafs can add in season and at deadline. Any improvements to the forwards woukd mean mrazek would have to be dumped.

Cap situation for Minnesota is the issue. Which is most likely the only reason they move talbot.

That is the obvious answer yes. It would assume Fiala and someone like Kulikov gets dealt. Which isn’t that unreasonable. In that scenario, you’d have $5m to spend on 2 goalies. Not great, but feasible.

Almost certainly they’d just move Talbot for futures to clear cap, but I think it’s a less obvious move that makes some sense.

Keerfoot would be a good addition to their forward unit. They most likely sign fleury and bing up soderblom so that would definitely fit.

Trade would have to happen before the draft and Be kerfoot and a 23 3rd for talbot and a 22 2nd.

Yeah he’s a dang good player, and considering we ran Hartman at 1C and Gaudreau at 3C, it feels like Kerfoot could find a meaningful spot in the lineup. He’s better than both Gaudreau and Jost while offering similar duties.

Won’t happen obvi, but I do hope Guerin/Evason shuffle the deck a little bit in terms of personnel and lines.

Always refreshing to see an informed and thoughtful person produce an actual strategic plan. Thanks.

That ARZ deal has Dubas written all over it.

Not sure SEA is the right team for Kerfoot and Holl, but I think the value is fine.

You might be a little light on Engvall's contract, he's got arb rights this offseason. Looks like you've got Mrazek buried rather than bought out, that would give you a few extra dollars to give to Engvall.

That 4th line makes me a little nervous with the inexperience, but it's worth trying.

Always refreshing to hear from you. It's amazing what you can get done when you don't try to shove players down another team throat and just think for a moment "who would actually calm the leafs about kerfoot and Holl" sprinkle a bit of "don't try to get something for free" on top and it's simple.

Seattle was interested in both. They certainly need defensive and pk help. Both will provide that. They are certainly thin on rhd as well. To me kraken seems like the team that might come calling dubas knowing that he may be open to moving them now.

I could be wrong on every contract lol. Tried to keep it reasonable. Those players could also have their rights traded and be filled with ufa.

I think if dubas does want to dip into the ufa market to do upgrading rather than replacement we would need to dump mrazek. If he wanted to go balls to the walls then Muzzin as well.
