Gavrikov is only moved if it's clear he doesn't want to re-sign. I think a lot of people expect he'll be signing an extension this summer though. He has a huge amount of value both on and off the ice for the team.

I could see them maybe moving Voracek if the young guys like Johnson, Texier and Marchenko all look ready for top 6 roles. I can't see Voracek playing on the 3rd line and providing any real value, so if he's passed on the depth chart they probably look to move on from him. Otherwise they might as well continue to keep him for the top 6 stability and leadership stuff.

Nyquist is real hard to call. Trading him at 50% retained makes all kinds of sense, but then he has already talked about really wanting to be a part of what the CBJ are building.

Korpi needs to show that he is capable of playing at a competent level again before he gets any kind of trade return. Hopefully he's healthy and focused, otherwise his career might wrap up a whole lot sooner than he wants.

I disagree a bit. I think Jarmo is pretty much telling the fan base that we are going to be keeping our vets. The real battle next season is the group of Foudy and Bemstrom vs Chinakhov, Johnson, and Marchenko. If it is even after camp then the latter group is most likely going to Cleveland to start the year. But those latter players will have to earn their spot. Jarmo is not just going to put them in Columbus bc of draft position. My prediction is the latter group starts in Cleveland and if injuries arise they are the short list call ups. This way if Columbus is not very competitive this year then they can compete for a championship in Cleveland. If Columbus is good this year these young guys give the Jackets amazing depth.
