Ducks are happy to keep Gibson for the rest of his career unless a team completely wows them with an offer

This isnt in "Good Value" for him let alone a offer that would wow them

Not enough for Gibby at all. From their needs perspective it’s basically Stillman for Gibson. That doesn’t cut it

If the Ducks want Bedard, they should probably keep Gibson

Yeah man I don’t have time to watch 50 west coast games a year.

But he’s been underwater in GSAx for the last 3 years. He’s posted 0.904, 0.903, and 0.904. He’s 50/90 in WAR/60 over the last 3 years for goalies with > 500 minutes

Maybe I don’t watch him enough but that’s a large enough sample size to say he’s been bad (or meh at best) for 3 years. We don’t have to kid ourselves here.

Why would his film be more indicative of the player he is than 3 seasons worth of stats?

Maybe because goalie stats are some of the most dubious in the NHL, and possibly among the major sports in general to judge quality. You think it’s a coincidence his decline has been over the last 3 years, mirroring the ducks decline during that time? He just magically lost his touch at the age of 25? When you actually watch him play you’ll see he routinely is capable of doing exactly what he did when he was considered elite, but the number and quality of chances against him is simply exceptional now, so it’s damn near impossible to maintain strong stats over a full season. It was an absolute wonder Stolarz was able to put up the stats that he did, and I don’t see him doing it playing the workload and sample size Gibson did.

Thanks for the confirmation though. I could tell by your comment you don’t watch him. You just read some numbers and typed away
