Description

Someone will overpay for Nichushkin and I could see it being the devil's. Yes nichushkin will be overpaid but he will also bring A LOT to the team. I think he's the exact type of player they're looking for and he will be a great leader for everyone and particularly a mentor to Slafkovsky.

Val is an awesome player. I don't think his AAV will be 7, but the term could be. A lot of times in UFA you are getting a player that has already peaked, I don't know that Nichushkin has yet.

He's been very impressive, but I think its still a massive gamble at that kind of AAV. Really the kind of contract that could jeopardize this team as some of the young talent come off of their ELCs. For that kind of money you have to be absolutely sure that for at least 3/5ths or 4/5ths of the term that guy is going to be an impact player and getting about 60 points or more per year. If hes just a 15 goal guy with an amazing defensive acumen, I dont even want to pay him 5 million a year.
