PHI has no need or interest in Petry, who while he has value, probably not in PHI at 34 yrs old, 3 yrs left, a NTC/NMC and while they have Ellis and Risto on RD, (along with Attard and probable 1st round choice of Nemec or Jiricek).

This is probably the framework of a deal that can work. Not sure if the Habs want to take on the Frost project... But JVR slots in nicely for 1 year on Suzuki/Caufield line. I would simplify it to Petry for JVR with a 3rd as a sweetener.

Before Habs fans crucify me... We get cap flexibility in the deal which is Really Important these days...

Your last line majority of Habs fans don't understand. Especially considering Montreal is right at the cap or possibly over it with resignings.

If Price comes back Montreal turns to cap dump/buy out mode real quick...

Have to think Hoffman and Byron will be gone either way this season. They have excess picks they could afford to dump them this year.

Every team passed on Byron 3 times on waivers. He's a buyout candidate.

Hoffman scored 65 goals in two seasons for Florida and they didn't offer him a contract. One year with the Blues and they didn't offer him a contract. Don't think Montreal would be willing to pay the costs to get rid of him.

Yeah depends on the cost. Maybe a team takes him and a third or two thirds or something. Either way I think there will be alot of cap moved around this off season.
