There is no way you think the Rangers would even consider that trade.

a 54 point 3rd dman for 5000000 that played the most minutes in a regular season ever last year, for someone that is looking like they won't live up to their potential, and might have a trashed rep with the coach?

Why do you want to trade for Kakko then? Could it be you want a 21 year old with tons of skill and potential for a 37 year old with a bad contract for 3 more years? Yeah, Rangers PASS.

5000000 for burns is not a bad contract.... it is more for burns to potentially get a cup and help a struggling player get a change of scenery, imo both are around a second + kappo has a little less value since he is without a contract

second overall pick who is literally 20 for an old and expensive defensemen if you knew anything about the rangers it would be clear this makes zero sense they are already paying two d men 8 mil+ and have an embarrassment of riches with their d prospects plus their clear issue this szn was 5v5 offense brent burns who would be a third pair defensemen that isn't even average defensively is not needed lol they need forward help and scoring help

I like Burns, he is my favorite Shark, and 3 to 5 years ago would have loved to see him on the Rangers, but at his current age, NO THANKS. $5m/year for a 38, 39 and 40 year old is not a good contract. Kakko is developing just fine and will be signed by the Rangers soon, so the Rangers PASS.

Rangers might pass, but what do you do when someone puts up an offer sheet for Kakko at $3.5m? Around they match, or just let him go for a second round compensation pick? I figure Burns with $3m retained is worth a little more than a second, no?

Offer sheet is a bs pipedream on here. Kakko will be signed before free agency. And no, Burns at $5/m a year is too much and the Rangers couldn't afford it anyway. Burns to the Rangers never happens, and certainly not for Kakko.
