Montreal ain't doing that and Philly is clearly committed to Ristolainen.

Out of all that, that's where you go to? Not the atrociously lowball contract offer to JG? Either way though, none of this happens ever, anywhere in the multiverse.

If you were PHI gm and you traded Risto before the contract you just signed with him started, no UFAs would ever sign a contract with you, ever.

You would be fired and never hired again.

Guy would never to take less to play for the team he grew up a fan of. Never happened before in the NHL.

As far as none of this happening, I can see not liking the value of the Montreal trade because I have no idea what Risto’s value is after supposedly being worth a first from multiple teams last year. I personally don’t like him which is why I’m trying to unload his money but the league likes him for some reason.

If I’m lucky, Chuck Fletcher is gone tomorrow anyway.

I think you forgot to add the 5th overall pick into the Ristolainen trade

I think 31 teams would call you up for getting a very good return for a guy who was about to walk and clearly is a liability in his own zone

There are hometown discounts, then there are hometown discounts, and then there is this. Guy is getting double digits in terms of money per year, that's not a debate at all either. No way he takes 2-3 million dollars less a year just because he's from the Flyers area.
