Pearson is worth a 3rd minimum, and Myers is worth a 2nd minimum at 50% retained

Sure I guess but the Canucks lack RD so Liljegren would be a better fit

I know I'm right on those two's valuations, cause the media's been reiterating as much

I'm not sure why I keep seeing Miller to Toronto. Makes zero sense to pay such a premium on a pure rental.

Sandin can play both just is a bit better on the left

So the media is always right? I could see Pearson getting a 3rd but Myers is a 4th d man and in my opinion is still overpaid at 3 million

LMAO, Myers at 3M is a bargain. If he hit the market this off-season he'd still get 4-4.5M per season, and it's the media's JOB to be objective, so they're SUPPOSE to always be right

I don't see how their window closes in 1 year. I also don't see how giving up 2 good young cheap players who will be on the roster makes them that much stronger. Miller to a team that can afford to rent sign him makes far more sense.

Why? You can get 1 year of Miller without giving up either Liljegren or Sandin. It's not worth it if that's the sticking point. Both are highly unlikely to be moved and if they are, it will be for someone with term.

You won't get either. Sandin could be moved but it would be for someone younger and with term. Not a 1 year rental. Millers value to TO isn't as high as it would be for some other teams.

Canuck fans think 1 year of Miller is worth extreme value. They are wrong of course, he will get a good package but not half as much as they want.

The issue is who can afford him that is a contender?

yes, but do you want a guy who COULD play his offside, or do you want a guy who just plays on his correct side. I am not opposed to sandin, I think that he could have a higher celing, but I think that liljegren will probably be a #3-4, would rather have the safer bet and the bigger player

Canucks will get minimum that type of package for Miller, you're dreaming if you think he fetches any less

Not from TO. The reality is Miller is a rental for TO. Nothing more. They can't afford to resign him. So they wouldn't pay as much as teams that would have the space and appetite to sign a 30 year old to his richest ever contract.

Aside from Carolina, who have budget issues, are any of those teams actually contenders?

It doesn't matter what we think they are. Do they think they will be contending next year...

Carolina, Boston, La and jersey certainly think they are playoff teams. Pittsburgh appears to be losing Malkin. Maybe they would like a few more kicks at the can.
