nothing crazy accurate here. just wondering what you all think. the cap room is available to play with current and future contracts. despite this disclaimer im sure someone will remind me how husso will not sign for 4.5 and 5.5 is too low for bratt. But they are reasonable

Some moves I like, but Debrincat will require more in a trade and Bratt makes more money than that.

Problem with 2OA being “enough for DeBrincat” is that Chicago is taking all of the risk in the deal. Sure there are financials and next contracts to consider with DeBrincat but he’s not the type of player you trade away in what amounts to a “Mulligan” on a young 40 goal scorer. I still think it’s gotta be 2nd OVR + a Considerable piece (Holtz, 1st, etc).

You can't offer sheet a player and then immediately trade them, You need to keep them for at least one calendar year.

Bratt gets far more money than that.

Zero chance of Ethan Bear signing for anything less than his $2,500,000 QO.

2nd overall plus Holtz is the price for everyone (it seems). But a top-5 pick has never been traded with a top-10 prospect. No idea why so many people expect Fitzgerald to be suckered into being the first.

It’s highly doubtful Devils are looking at DeBrincat anyways. Just not a fit for what they are looking for.

wasnt aware of that particular offer sheet rule, but its still covered in the details. Bratt will most likely not make more
nylander(26yo) 6.9mil 80pts more consistent ppg
debrincat(24yo)6.9mil 78pts multiple 40goal scorer
Fiala(25yo)5.1 mil 85pts last 3 seasons good PPG
Pasta(26yo)-------- only 6.6mil

Bratt hasnt done what those players have so why would he get a deal near what they did?

and ethan bear is 3rd pairing D. and even if its 1 mil more to sign him. whatever there is cap space.

I think we disagree with the second asset, I think NJD needs to add a good level asset and you said “nothing big”.
