Trades
1.
NYR
  1. 2022 4th round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Georgy wants out. NYR can't afford him. There are better, cheaper options. For Detroit, they need a second goalie, and Georgy will certainly get more playing time. Might even land the #1 spot. I'd negotiate for 2022 3rd round pick (DET), but the Rangers are strapped thanks to GM Jeff Gorton. See next trade.
DET
  1. Georgiev, Alexandar [RFA Rights]
2.
NYR
  1. Lee, Anders
  2. 2023 1st round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
I have already received some responses from Islander fans who acknowledge that to part with their captain requires something special. This proposal is something special. Rationale for the Isles: They're getting long in the tooth; 7 of the 12 starting forwards are in their thirties. Ditto for their first pair D. Artemi's playmaking will certainly improve the offense whether he plays first or second line. In addition, the Isles might want knock on Chicago's door and offer up Josh Bailey for Patrick Kane to include some salary cap relief and some draft pick action. In other words, put the Kane-Panarin bromance together along with the remaining Islander cast while they still have those aging ponies in the stable. Just sayin.'
NYI
  1. Panarin, Artemi ($2,910,714 retained)
Additional Details:
Nothing against Artemi, but his contract is awful. Despite his many talents, he brings no grit, tends to stay on the ice too long, and doesn't always get back on D. However, the Isles have that in spades. It's been a hallmark of the franchise since its inception. No team with a $10M player on the roster has ever won a cup. The proposed trade, from the Isles perspective dollar wise but Artemi's contract under $10M. The rationale for this trade from the Rangers perspective is the same as trading Mike Gartner at the trade deadline. Mike was a career 700+ goal scorer with the same downsides as Artemi. The Rangers brought in grit from Edmonton and Chicago and to get them to the mountain top.
3.
NYR
  1. Donato, Ryan [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
I see Ryan as a third liner for the Blueshirts.
SEA
  1. Kravtsov, Vitali
  2. Nemeth, Patrik
Additional Details:
Nemeth would improve SEA D. Vitali is a disgruntled NYR, a cancer in the clubhouse. In SEA, he will be a happy camper and have the opportunity to strut his stuff.

Isles/ Rangers will never make a trade of that significance.

Not sure the purpose of that ranger islander trade. You retained 3 mill on Panarins contract so now your essentially paying the same amount of money for a much lesser player in Lee. Makes zero sense

Gentlemen. As a Ranger fan for 65 years, I will state for the record that the Blueshirts will never win a cup with Panarin and this contract. No room for the supporting cast. Are they better than 21-22. No, but they are not worse. I'd launch Trouba too for the same reason. Trouba makes sense at $6M, not $8M. Fox make's $9M (deserved). How does Jacob compare? The Ranger have 5 quality D; Fox - Lindgren - Miller - Schneider - Lundqvist. Excluding Fox, the remaining four are cheaper combined than Trouba, That won't be the case much longer. Crosby has been taking $8.7 to leave room for the supporting cast. He has 3 cups to his credit. Malkin took $9.5M. Ovechkin hasn't breached the $10M threshold and he has a cup. Last time I checked, Artemi's cup ledger has a goose egg. And he has downsides as all players do. I'm guessing that both of you are about 30 have no recollection of the 94' Stanley cup champs. Ditto for the Rangers of the 60s-70s. No grit. They have always overpaid for talent, Glen Sather and Jeff Gorton have more contractual disasters on their resume than anyone else I can think of. Of the 16 players with $10M or more contracts, only Toews and Kane in have won cups, but they weren't making $10 mil or more when they won those cups. Keep drinking the cool-aid, fellas. If the Rangers stand pat, they will be good, but not good enough. See you in four years when the Rangers will still be seeking to win a cup. By then that D core will be in the mid to late 20s, Kreids will be 35, Zman 33 .............

At least do something like Panarin for O’Reilly or someone like Hischier.

You won't launch Artemi unless you sweeten the pot. A #1 draft pick looks to the future. and Anders can be moved more easily because his contract reeks of sanity.

Re: Analytics are good, You proposal has merit except the Ryan's remaining contract length is one year, while Anders is locked in at 4 years. The Devils will not trade a 23 year old for a 31 year old.

To all: do any of you truly believe that the Rangers will win with this group? They can't bring back Strome (although I believe Copp is the better option, Vatrano - Motte .................. It will be the same story next year. For Islander fans, same question. The clock is ticking.
