Description
Stop playing around and get them signed. Complaning about a few million with these players doesn't even matter they're some of our best players. The cap will be tight after and they still wont be the problem. All the fans know this too. Most pens fan know we should be prioritizing cap dumping our other contracts too. Shouldnt even be hard cause guys like pettersson and matheson and zucker and mcginn are actually decent. Retooling the defense and keeping marino should be top priority unless we could get someone like boeser for marino.
Malkin and Letang, sign them
Dont make the same mistake as with Fleury. Shaking my head. People who are fine with them gone arent even true fans.

And finally fire Sullivan. Dont need a 6th straight year of losing in the forst round. Any other coach eouldve been gone after 3 seasons of that.
Just given a pass cause of the cups or i guess injuries but that was actually just our depth not him.

NSH declines. They don't have spots for any of those players.

Interesting concept...

I doubt Nashville has any interest in trading for 11 million in salary when they need to sign Forsberg+.

Seattle would definitely need a draft pick or two to take that deal, and 13 million off our books.

Be cool if they could swing these deals.

And if you were Ron Hextall, you'd know better than to bother David with this proposal.

Whether they have the cap space available or not, no GM is going to take on that much salary in role players without sending some back. Even if they have use for those players. NSH does not.

NSH doesn't need any more LD. They already have Josi, Ekholm, Borowiecki, and Lauzon at the NHL level, and a lot of prospects in MIL that will be pushing for a spot in NSH (Farrance, Davies, DelGaizo, Stastney, Wilsby). They just don't have anywhere to slot Dumoulin or Pettersson in.

Even if PIT was going to trade Carter right after re-signing him, NSH isn't a good landing spot either. He's not bumping Granlund or Johansen out of the top six, and Sissons already has great chemistry on the 3rd line centering Trenin and Jeannot. Sticking him on the 4th line would just be bad cap management on NSH's part. If they aren't happy with Novak or McCarron as their 4C, they could get a number of vet centers for a fraction of what Carter makes.

Aside from top six wingers, PIT doesn't have anyone on their roster that fits what NSH needs to improve their roster. Since neither Guentzel or Rust are likely to be on the trade block, the Pens and Preds aren't great trading partners right now.
