With, don’t think they’d do it without and risk losing him after a year. I also don’t think that’s what the Canes SHOULD do but reports are Necas offers are being listened to by canes FO and the return they’d be looking for is a young top 4 d. They should be looking to upgrade their top 6 goal scoring imo. But nothing on devils would make sense there other than Bratt and I doubt that’s worth our while for how much we’d have to add to Necas.

I don’t hate it but think that’s what Canes FO would do - see my other response above

Girard - Top-6 forward signed with term. Can't see it happening unless the Avs re-sign Manson.
Lehky - 1st/2nd round pick + a decent prospect, at least equal to or better than what we gave up considering the playoffs he had. Don't see the Avs trading him though.

pick 37 and Type Thompson, Chase Stillman, or Nolan Foote maybe, if Lehk to become available due to cap reasons?

Sharangovich for Girard? I dont love that

The Avs will prioritize Lehky over Burky, so they'll have the cap space for him. Can't say that package is all that appealing.

Sharangovich would probably be the closest you could get without sacrificing the core or one of your top prospects. Not all that often that a top-4 D signed to a team-friendly deal becomes available. He'll be expensive if they look to deal him.

won't the looming extension of MacK factor in too? Kuemper, Val is probably half your currently available cap. Obviously you guys know what they'd prioritize better than I would. Just figured Kadri, Nichuskin, and Kuemper will be more highly prioritized than Lehkonen

O no doubt. UFA priorities are Nichushkin, Kuemper, Lehkonen, Kadri, and Manson in that order. Kadri's down that low only because he's likely priced himself out of Denver. As for Mack's extension, Erik Johnson's $6m deal ends the same year, so that will likely all go to Mack which would bring him up to $12.5m. He'll likely take less than that though because he wants to win and has said as much.

Burakovsky is gone. Cogliano, Sturm, Helm, Murray, and Jack Johnson could stay but likely at the vet minimum.

You're probably looking at $5.5-6m for Nichushkin, $5-5.5m for Kuemper, and $3.5-4m for Lehkonen. Leaves you about $12m to sign a 2C and fill the depth out. Though I don't see them spending more than $6m on a 2C given that Byram and Newhook will also need deals next year. It's going to be an interesting summer...

Those Nuke/Kuemper deals feel kinda light TBH. At least compared to their evolving wild projections. But maybe they take the “cup winner” discount
