I think that this gives them another good shot a deep playoff run, good forward group, still a pretty solid defense lineup, and a better goaltending duo between the two of them. They can give them closer to equal amount of starts and still take home Ws

Glad you liked it. There were a lot of hoops I jumped through to try and make this work. Really disappointed I couldn't find a way to keep Kase in the lineup

I mean if you downgraded a bit on Kerfoot and traded for a cheaper winger plus a pick you may have enough to resign Kase.

I really doubt New Jersey moves 2 good Roster players for negotiating rights and a low 3rd

Yeah but why would I downgrade. It was Kerfoot or Kase and honestly I do value Kerfoot a bit more, even with his cap hit. After the season he put up, hes a fairly valuable member of the team

A team won't normally acquire rights without something being in place. I'd imagine that for this to happen, Campbell would basically be signing as soon as he gets there. Wood did not play much this year and is sort of becoming an out man in NJ. No harm no foul on that. NJ also has soured on Blackwood so they would likely value Campbell more than him

I dont disagree with the trade, Wood and Blackwood are at the very top of my offseason acquisition list, I just think NJD asks for a tad more

I think this offseason has been downgraded to highly doubtful.

You can throw out the CHI trade and include Mrazek in the MTL deal for a 2023 1st ? 2024 1st ? Saves the team a buyout and $$$$ against the cap

Ideally I would not want to move a 1st. On top of it, Montreal has multiple goalies already

Highly doubtful Price plays next season, which leaves only Allen/Montembeault and if I can squeeze out a first for 50% retained Allen and take back a cap dump with the 1st to give TOR critical $$$$

I don't think the Leafs would want Blackwood. Hasn't been good, injury problems and has baggage. They tend to stay away from those things. Wood QO is $3.5 million.

Basically not QOing wood. This is a bit of. Toronto specialty of getting guys who had down/injury riddled gears to sign a one year super cheap deal to bring their numbers back up.

Toronto has been very much connected to Blackwood thanks to his price, age, and potential

It kinda does. Leafs are shopping Campbells rights and the Devils are one of the interested teams. Campbell would have an extension with the devils in place of course.

The Leafs bias is so extreme here. Where has there EVER been a case that this much was given up for a UFA? And in any case was it a less than lock of a great player?

Leafs have not been connected to Blackwood. Talk radio guys have offered it as an option, no different than guys on capfriendly, and one insider randomly speculated on it solely based on the Devils interest in Campbell. Nothing ever gets out about the Leafs.
