Yeah with the Paul signing Tampa is now officially $5,133,333 over the cap. Goodbye to both Killorn and McDonagh.

First of all Briesbois is incredible, but it would take some serious magic to be able to move McD out. Played sooo many games, older, with 4 yrs at a high cap hit. Killorn should be pretty easy. Caps should consider him...what kind of return would you expect for Killorn?

I'd imagine Alex Killorn should get a late 2nd round pick.

Even if McDonagh was willing to waive, I doubt BriseBois could get rid of his contract without adding a major sweetener to his contract. GMs know he's in a bind and they're not taking on that contract without Picks/Prospects being added.

Recall that Seabrook is in their books during offseason, he won't affect the cap afterwards. They're still under the cap.

However if they plan to keep Palat, one of those two definitely is getting moved.

Brisebois is a magic man, and McDonagh is a solid D-man. I can see McDonagh heading to Detroit. There's a certain need and Yzerman likes the guy.

I expect we'll see a McDonagh-Sundqvist swap.
