Def think that get's it done for CHI, but if I'm Philly that's just way too much future

This is the type of trade that gets a cat deal done. I agree with your opinion and I don’t understand why Philly doesn’t just rebuild, but since they’re retooling for some reason, this is the trade they would have to do

I agree, a rebuild is in order. The problem is the Hayes, Couturier and Ellis contracts are prohibiting it. Similar to the situation in MTL, these guys injury and performance issues last year have killed their value, so they may be forced to retool and hope they come back healthy and productive. But I wouldn't retool at the expense of their top end prospects. They only have 25mil for next year when DeBrincat comes up, and with 13 spots to fill the 8-9 mil he'll want will eat a big chunk of that up.

No chance the Flyers do this. His next contract would be more like $9-$10 million per year as an RFA. I think like everyone else they are kicking the tires but I just dont see it happening not unless some salary, not JVR, was going back the other way.

Debrincat has the potential to score 50+ goals in a season so idk why you think 9 mil is bad. That’s a steal if anything

No I think you misunderstood me. The Flyers dont have the assets to give up that much and then add the $9-$10 million on top of that. I am not saying he isn't worth that money I am just saying thats what his next contract will be and long term for the Flyers I would not do it. it want meant as a criticism of the CAT.
