Forgot to add that Gunler could be another prospect alike but was that extra piece I felt would push this move to be more favourable then perhaps some of the other options floating around.

EDIT: What would a Necas contract look like?

I would really hate to give up Morrow, but I would at least consider doing that if it meant bringing in DeBrincat. Would you consider Drury instead of Morrow? I would hate to give up Drury as well, but the Canes have a surplus of C prospects, and it would allow the Canes to keep a quality RD prospect.

With potentially Necas and Dach on the books and depending on who is selected with the potential pick this year along with our likely early pick next year our centres I'm hopefully will be well stocked. Morrow would be a preference as we have a plethora of LD in the pipeline albeit none which I would peg on to be a top line D guy. Wings and RD would be the 2 positions I would have preference for prospects so id have to be inclined to press for Morrows inclusion as opposed to Drury.

What about Koivunen and another wing prospect instead of Morrow? I would prefer not to trade Morrow, but I am not completely opposed to it

Having a D prospect like Morrow with the offensive upside would be a breath of fresh air to our D prospects who are full of guys who can defend but their offence is lacking. It would take some convincing to not include Morrow in a proposal.

And for that package, would the Hawks retain half? If not, what would need to be added to retain? I mean, it shouldn’t be that much since it would only be 3.2x1.

It wouldn't take much but we would need to have a plan for what will happen with Toews and Kane and any other players we may consider moving at the TDL.

I’d do this if Cat extension were agreed to as part of deal. 6-8x8-9? What does that look like?

You’d probably bridge Necas at 2x4ish, maybe a shade under. You could risk it and lock him in to a longer term Hyman type deal but could go either way.

Depending on what term you want but he will be looking at the 9m mark and if it were me, id want to lock him up for the 8 years.

Yeah I know his QO is 9.5 but was hoping you could knock a bit off of AAV on an 8 year deal. Canes seem willing to lock up guys entering their prime versus spending on guys at end of their prime so I’m hoping we take a swing here. Probably a long shot though

I believe the QO is only 9m, but yeah 8 years may get a slight discount. Would be a great fit for you on that team with a great coach too. TBH, I prefer to keep the Cat but if a move is inevitable I would want to ensure we are getting as much help as possible.
