Don’t see the point in tossing Zacha for a few picks Devils don’t need when he can be used to swing a trade for Samsonov and Vanecek.
Think that’d make the Devils stronger in net than having Comrie as backup.
Also, I think it’s more likely that Berniers done playing pro hockey than him suiting up for any significant number of games for 22-23.

I don’t really see why Devils wouldn’t just give Wood his QO and keep him around for one more year. Given their luck with injuries lately they could use that additional depth even if he doesn’t play every single game and just ends up walking as UFA after the season. Also, word is that the team really missed having Wood around the locker room

I wouldn’t sign Gaudreau to that contract.
It all but guarantees a core piece will be lost due to the cap when Mercer, Holtz and Luke Hughes are through their ELCs.

Its not all bad though.
I like the Bear and Puljujärvi trades.
I like the Husso signing.
If this is how they set up for 22-23, they should definitely be one of the better teams in the east.
