Description

Kadri gets paid, and makes Detroit competitive immediately. Murray comes from a team where he was a healthy scratch in the playoffs, to a team where he will get lots of opportunity to play. Holtby nearly signed with the Wings before he went to Dallas, and now he carves himself out a nice backup role, while getting paid more than he did last season. Wings still need a 1st pairing LD, but doesn't find one this offseason.

the rumour is that Kadri is looking between 8m-10m. That contract of 7mx5 seems like thats the deal he takes a discount to return to Colorado.

There will be a bidding war for him, and I dont see the connection to Detroit that he would be willing to leave money and term on the table for a team who is on the rise but are not even in the perennial playoff contender category yet.

I heard that rumour as well! I just don't know who is going to pay 8m-10m for a 2C. He's had one season of over 1 point per game, otherwise he's only topped 60 points once. He had 1 great year on a Cup winning team - not sure someone will ACTUALLY give him 10m in a flat Cap world.

I don't think this is a good idea for Detroit tbh. Yes it makes them a lot better, but I think Kadri starts to decline when the team is actually ready to compete. Trocheck might be a better option if looking for a ufa.

I'd take Kadri at 7x5, unfortunately he would not even consider this contract. Someone will offer him $8.5-9 per year.

I can't tell what's funnier - thinking Kadri is gonna get $7M or thinking he will make this team competitive immediately...
