Modeling the Scheifele deal after the Eichel trade, I see! I'm just happy it includes Schneider! Funny thing is, both Jets and Rangers fans will largely pan this deal!!!

I really hope we don't go after Scheif tbh, but I think we will. Basic its Chytil, Schneider and the 1st for Scheif, and the 2nd is for the retained salary.

I honestly think the jets would really have to consider that offer. Having a high end piece in there like Schneider I feel is the most important part. They also need a good RHD so that also checks that box. Chytil might be able to fill the 2C role so that's another box checked. I don't think the retention at that dollar amount given the term left is too ridiculous and I feel a second is good compensation for that. The first, although likely to be late, should be good considering what they claiming about this draft in 2023. I would maybe take out the third and put top 10 protection on the pick just to be safe, don't want to do what Chicago did with the Seth Jones trade.

Nobody is paying a 2nd for Georgiev, that’s just ridiculous. 5th maybe if you’re lucky.

I could see the general framework of the deal being considered by the Jets. Obviously Winnipeg doesn't add the 3rd or retain on Scheifele unless more is added from New York, but the main pieces are there.

I can see the 3rd falling off, but I don't see a deal getting done without retention.

Yeah there would definitely need to be an add or something better than Chytil coming back to Winnipeg if the Rangers need retention. But the basic framework is there.

Like who? I, and it seems like others think that Schneider for Scheifele is a great start. So with the added first and second, and Chytil who still has potential, makes the trade more than fair even with retention.
At the end of the day, I seriously hope to god we don't go after Mark. But, I think this trade is more than fair. If the 1.5ish million retention over two years is too rich for WPG, then they can for sure keep him.

I don't know if it would need to be additional picks or prospects. The Jets may like Chytil for all I know, I hope not, but you never know. He just doesn't have much value. He had a couple good games in the playoffs, but his overall career so far points to Chytil being a rather ordinary bottom sixer at best.

As I said, the basic parts are there, but the offer isn't good enough that Chevy agrees to retain on an already huge value contract, IMO.

I think that my offer is already an overpayment for Scheif. So agree to disagree I guess.
