Devils are very comfortable taking a center, Fitz has said this publicly. He has also said that if the price is right, he has no problem trading back. After today's press conference, I think they're going for Cooley.

I mean you get a 1st rd pick, a former 1st rd pick, a good defensive prospect, and a top 9 forward. Not to mention they’re gonna be cap strapped and will be going into a rebuild, yeah maybe there should be more from the devils but that’s not a terrible deal. What if it was a 2023 1st, 2023 2nd, Zacha, and Foote. I think that’s also pretty fair. You’re just not getting two firsts for Meier

Timo is our best player, in his prime. He personifies everything Mike Grier wants his team to be like. Any offer not including Holtz and a 1st would be 100% ignored. You have to give to get and you are not offering nearly enough.

On a good team Zacha caps at 3rd liner, Foote has 3rd line potential and Bahl is like a 4/5th defenseman potential. It’s a lot of depth stuff and not a lot of high end assets. Quality over quantity. None of the prospects offered are even top 5 in the devils system
