Yep, but I totally see a team like Seattle doing it. He's not gonna be a bad player he's just gonna be a severely overpaid player as Skinner is.

He had a crazy good year, but that's just one out of the 10+ he has been in the NHL. Plus the defense was focused on containing MacKinnon, which allowed Kadri to get a bit more favorable matchups. I think he has some good years left in him, but likely not as good as this year. Buyer beware.

And on top of all that, Seattle has to be at least a little leery of players coming from Colorado after Donskoi and Grubauer, right?

As we seen over the years, team shouldn't go crazy on UFA signings when they have cap. Be prudent and if a good deal isn't there, non playoff teams can just wait till the following year and see what's available.
If you gotta outbid all teams to acquire. UFA....you've severely overpaid. More important is getting a player who wants to play for your team.
