Description
VV officially gone to the Devils. I think it is a great move for somewhat still rebuilding (or retooling) Devils.

I am seeing a lot of hate by Caps fans, but Caps had to make a move from this tandem. The Caps came out and said they see a lot of value in the 2nd and 3rd round, so I see why they wanted to have picks in both rounds (since they didn't have any in the 3rd). Somewhat underwhelming return as I would have wanted just a 2nd round pick, but nonetheless, I think the Caps made the right move by sticking with Sammy.

This team is assuming Hagelin is done.

I haven't done a team with Allen so here is my take. Allen has underperformed the last 3 seasons so any more additions from the Caps side in this trade would not be fair.

Caps could also trade a late round pick to the Avs for the rights of Keumper - but with the expensive contract for Darcy, I would rather get some forward depth.

Once everyone comes back, send AJF, Snively, or Protas down to ensure enough cap space.

By moving up in the VV deal, Caps secured Chesley... he could end up being a steal there. Never would have made it to 46.

Agreed - I like the decision. Now the Caps theoretically have 2 very solid RHDs in the pipeline.

This was posted before the draft choice.
