I think you're going to have to pay another team to take Drouin at this point.

I wouldn’t go that far but I don’t c him being dealt before the deadline. The Drouin situation reminds me a lot of what happened with Domi last year.

His cap hit next season is $5.5m and he hasn't cracked 25 points in 3 years.

I agree but that’s mainly health related

That doesn't help his case. It's been 3 years since he was a 50-point player, and even then there were injury concerns. Those concerns have only been solidified since.

The Drouin value is fair but the Isles need a guy who can score and not another playmaker. As others said in this thread, too, I think Drouin is a TDL move once he comes back and re-establishes some value, and I think if you have the space to retain on him you'll get a much better return.

Well last year he was hurt but the year before it was mental health related. I could see him bouncing back and having a Max Domi type season. All I’m saying is that it’s a possibility.

You seem to be making my case for me. Domi had proven more in the NHL than Drouin and was coming off one bad season. Drouin hasn't been good for 3 years now.

I’m not even arguing that Drouin is better than Domi. I’m saying it’s within the realm of possibility that drouin bounces back and has value at the deadline.

i feel like hes an option if teams dont find their need at FA. I think he can have a good season on another team
