It’s way worse. Brutal defense and half of a top 6.

It is definitely way worse as currently constructed but 20M in cap would of allowed the canucks a lot of flexibility to improve the roster through trades or UFA.

Improving through trades represents the same thing as doing the OEL trade in the first place though. Still need to give up assets in order to add players.

And free agency? Not a place you wanna go for adding half your team
