That’s an easy no from Columbus. Not trading Chinakov for a rental, I wouldn’t even move Chinakov if Kerfoot came with an extension.

Please send Kerfoot else where, you’d get a better return from a contending team who needs a middle 6 forward, Edmonton, Minnesota and Carolina stick out to me as teams that could use him.

This was with an extension, sorry that wasn't clear but yeah it's still maybe something CBJ would have no interest in. I was just playing around with stuff and thought this would be interesting for the Leafs (and Columbus is kinda weird down the middle right now)

Columbus has 18-21 forwards who could likely play at the NHL level, they really have no need for another one at this point.

Yeah I know, but they're in a weird position where if Sillinger doesn't take a step forward quickly (which to be fair he totally could lol), their centre group has no legit top point-getter. Figured this could be a cheap way to take a stab at that but I didn't think about it too extensively so I trust your analysis

Sillinger was the youngest player in the NHL last year and I believe he was the only one from the 2021 draft to play the whole season in the NHL. I wouldn’t expect him to take that big of a step that quickly, hes still only 19. Columbus still have Johnson who was drafted as a center, though I do see him better as a wing, but he will probably be more of a top point guy over Sillinger.

Also Kerfoot wouldn’t have half of the points he had in Toronto with Nylander and Tavares on his line, and yes he played almost 400 minutes with those two and by far the most of any of his line combinations. Kerfoot is good, but he is also a product of high level line mates, of which he wouldn’t get in Columbus unless he was with Laine and Voracek, but I still think Nylander and Tavares are better then them.
