You don't want to acquire Strome to play the wing. Hawks tried many times to put him on the wing in multiple lines and it failed miserably. Strome is a top 6 center, and unfortunately he's not very versatile...maybe could play the 3c but that's only if the 3rd line is a scoring line and not a defensive line

Sure, Tavares can play the wing and Strome can be 2C.

I don't get why people are so high on Strome? He doesn't play physical whatsoever with 11 hits last season. Leafs need some physical wingers in the top six and Strome is at the bottom of the scale.
