why not get Kane now

Description
getting Kane this offseason may not cost as much since Chicago is in fire sale mode. Puts fans in the seats and gives him a chance to play with all the young guys for a little while. If it works out he signs for longer. If he doesn't like it thence is a UFA and can go sign elsewhere.

You're seriously mistaken if you think you'd be getting Kane without including a 1st round pick with or without retention, and you've given nothing of value here with the exception of Portillo. Terrible trade offer

I think you might be mistaken. Chicago shot themselves in the foot, they don't have any leverage and will lose him for nothing soon.
This might not be the package but it certainly won't be what you want.
I mean the Cat trade was pretty low, Kane will be even lower.

On top of reports that Kane will only accept trades to 2 teams. Chicago is in trouble

He plays til the trade deadline in Chi and then gets traded to a cup contender. He is a fa at end of year. Sabres are not going to give anything up for him. Sabres will sign him as a ufa next July. Kevin Adams knows this. They played together in Chicago. Kane learned from Adams and has high respect for him.

Sabres aren’t trading anything for him. He is a ufa after season. Adams signs him next July as a ufa. Buffalo would be stupid to give anything for him. We don’t need him this year. Let the young kids play

Yes I agree. I could see buf trading some capital for him if he wanted to.come tho.
But I would rather wait til fa
