Description

- According to Recent Reports, the Caps love Kuemper. I'm not thrilled about that, but I signed him here to see what that team would look like.

- Apparently the Caps have some hopes Backstrom returns this year. If that's the case, I don't think they will grab a high priced FA center. Instead, I bet they try to let McMichael and Eller play down the middle, and make a move at the deadline if they feel Backstrom is out for good. If they feel he's done now, they might go after someone like JT Miller.

- I left them a lot of cap to wiggle with if they bring back Wilson in November and Backstom closer to the playoffs. Next year, Eller goes off the books so if Backstrom can come back at the end of this year, they will be under cap next year as well...

This team looks great and all, but if my math is right, you still don't have enough for Wilson and Backy to return. Yes, they should return at different times, but that does not matter (if they return in the regular season which GMBM referenced)...

Maybe trade someone, but that still wouldn't get you to enough cap space (around $14.3mil for both players) and that leaves you with no healthy scratches

Yeah the math doesn't quite work - but if isn't there a point in the season if Backstrom returns, he doesn't hurt the cap? Like the Lightning and Kuch?
