You mean the Sharks weren't going to take on 3.5M for peanuts so another team can have a 30 goal scorer at half price?

What do you mean? Kane at $3.5 and a second for Zack Kassian isn't fair?

He's been given permission to speak to any number of teams regarding a contract. If there was any chance his contract would be reinstated, he wouldn't be able to sign a contract with a different team.

This doesn't preclude the contract arbitration AT ALL, and you're disingenuous to quote Lebrun saying it does.

Yeah, I read that. And, to me, there is no decision on if his contract will be reinstated or not. If he wins his grievance, he’s owed the contract, therefore, property of SJ. Therefore, they’ll need to trade him. THEREFORE, a possibility of salary retention. THEREFORE, a chance of EDM getting him for 3.5 x 3. Get it?
