Forwards that are 1-2 years from UFA are not nearly as valuable as you think see: Buchnevich, Reinhart, Debrincat, Fiala

They don’t but they also aren’t worth a ppg two way beast, a ppg cost controlled offensive beast, and multiple early rounds picks including 2 firsts. Especially when those two players come at a cap hit less than tkachuk a would be.
