What is plan B

Created by: Chris1022

Description
Some plan B options if JG doesn’t sign with the islanders, which at this point seems the most likely outcome.

Here are some other options Lou and Co. should consider.

All options would improve the islanders forward core. Some more so then others. I ranked them in order of who’d I’d like the most. AAV and years weren’t really thought over, just spitballing plan B options.

Honestly, I’d give a kidney for Kadri. I may want him more then JG.

All 4 of those UFA would be an awful fit and they are overpaid.

Kadri likely reverts back to a 3rd liner next season, Palat is in his 30s, strome isn’t good

I said the AAV and years was just random spitballing numbers. This was just to discuss plan B options if the isles miss out on the big game player. Kadri wouldn’t be a 3rd liner on the isles. He’d move Nelson to the wing in all likelihood and plays as the 2C. Strome at an obvious cheaper price fills in nicely as added depth on the 3rd line. Palat and Trocheck would be big gets too.

I like Palat or Burakovsky as plan B. Defo not Strome tho. I do think we can easily land Sonny Milano if we give him an offer. He grew up an Islanders fan and is from LI

Pacioretty maybe? Sounds like he's available and would probably come cheap-ish since Vegas is over the cap. For a year, I wouldn't hate it

Kadri will be 32 and his numbers will fall off a cliff next year. Why are we paying him till he’s 39

That would be good too. They just need to do something. Ideally, don’t over pay, or go for an old fart.

Like I’ve said…multiple times, years and AAV weren’t serious. Just throwing out interesting plan B options.

That wouldn’t be a bad option. Not the most ideal, but it would help them.

Kadri is 100% getting 7 years which is why I’m saying that. Isles need to get younger

Plan B is Giroux, Ilya Mikheyev, Dominik Kubalik, or David Perron
