I can't imagine Calgary wants to add multiple years of 4.5M for a bottom 6 C. Especially while giving up a controllable top 4 D man.

Thanks for the response. I would say he's a middle 6 more than a bottom 6. I also remember hearing how much they wanted to acquire him at the TDL last year. It was just an idea. Thought it could make sense for both teams.

I think with Calgary being in such limbo right now they stick with their guys as opposed to locking in more money over multiple years. It was a fit last year with Monahan going on LTIR, reports say he's getting back to healthy and skating again so Dvorak and Monahan would be the two C in the bottom 6 behind Lindholm and Backlund which would be a ton of money to spend down the middle.

i would rather take on 1 year of Kerfoot for less in both cap hit and acquisition cost. He is a better 3C too and not a long term commitment either

I think both teams say no. This doesn't really help Calgary, and I don't think that this trade is in any way beneficial to the Habs. Although Harris needs some time, his age fits the timeline that the team is building towards far better than Kylington. I also believe Harris has serious potential to become an impact defenseman in his prime. Overall, not good for either team.

Habs have Edmundson at LD... that's it. Harris, Guhle, Xhekaj are all looking like eventual NHL LD - trading one of them is probably a good idea since they can't all make mistakes at the same time. Especially if we want to accelerate the rebuild.
