I'd flip Bailey for Labanc but not much more than that

Curious why you would sign Strome to multi year deal given it looks like a bit of a rebuild in San Jose? Doesn’t seem like a good fit on either side

I literally haven’t paid any attention. I have no idea why we have three NHL goalies right now

If you add a first I would do it. Bailey is pretty bad

i mean Labanc's coming off a season with 6 points in 21 games and only makes $250K less than Bailey - I'd throw in a late round pick if you want that for the contract value but let's not act like you're moving out a stud

He was injured all season. He’s cheaper, better and younger than Bailey.

So I’d pass pretty hard on that swap

Fair enough, they're both overpaid middle-6 guys so I think a change of scenery helps both. I just push back on the idea that moving Bailey for Labanc makes the Islanders have to add a 1st, when the original ask was a 2nd. Bailey shouldn't cost anything to dump, and definitely shouldn't cost a 1st to move when another bad contract is coming back.

I don’t really agree. Labanc is not a great contract but he’s probably only like 1.5 mil overpaid and still is youngish so has a chance to bounce back. Bailey is pretty old and is what he is at this point

i mean, don't let the fact that some Isles fans hate the guy guide your opinion of him. He's an offensively minded middle 6 guy who can contribute on the power play but isn't the guy you want on the ice locking down a lead in the last minute. He's average 57 pts/82 GP the last 6 seasons and has only missed 16 games over those 6 years, and he's chipped in 47 points in 64 playoff games over the same span. He's also probably overpaid by about $1-1.5M but the idea that he's this Andrew Ladd-esque cap dump is just overkill for this guy.
