Idk that we can move Bailey but I like this. I posted a similar Milano contract offer earlier based off Kubalik’s deal in Detroit. I think Nino would command 4 X 20 at a minimum tho.

Easy decline for Detroit. No room.

I would be shocked to see Nino only take a 3 year deal as a 29 year old UFA; I feel like I would be even more shocked to see him come back to the Island (am I wrong or has he been vocal about not liking his time here?) Assuming he would push for 5 years, I'd rather just keep the last 2x$5M of Josh Bailey than get Nino at $150K less per year.

Milano makes a ton of sense though - bring him home, put him on a line with Beau, and let the Isles actually have a line with a ton of speed they can put out there. I also wouldn't trade Beau for that reason - I'd rather let Salo learn with Mayfield at LD3 than bring in Vince Dunn and pay him $4M on the 3rd pair.

I discounted Nino slightly in hopes he'd take a little less to come back to where he started his career. That's just hopeful thinking, if we cant sign him though, we just hold on to Bailey

I'm sure Nino has fond memories of his time as an Islander. Lol

Agree with others that Nino will cost more in terms of salary/length of deal. But really like the overall approach here.

You don't move Beau for a third pair guy. Romanov deal secures top 4 and third pair D guy will be a low cost vet like Ryan Murray. Nino will get term and at least $6mm per on the market
