That doesn’t seem like mcuh to get a guy locked for 5 years at 4.4 mill

Well Rosen was 13th OA last year, and Mitts is slotted to be 2C/3C next year, battling with Cozens. And the comment was more geared to how KA is building the team. KA has no interest in short term success, he wants to build a perennial contender, and his words and actions have all shown how he wants to build up by drafting and developing. He’s not going to sacrifice players that could be key 3,4 years down the road to make the team better now. I think the defense is set outside of perhaps a 5-7D add, and the forwards are probably set outside of taking on a cap dump for assets.

Marino is locked for 5 years and is only 25. I don’t think It’s a short sighted move at all
