As bad as Carter is at center he's even worse on the wing so its probably not a good idea having Miller as the 3C. Everything else looks alright though

Canucks would want a 2023 first round pick. Marino, 2023 first, another small piece should get it done

Right now, the Canucks need Cap relief. Marino (desperately coveted) and Poulin (former 1st) for Miller, Kapanen (Young player with potential upside on new team) for the 4th.

Pen's don't trade Marino unless they're getting Miller or an unprotected 2023 1st rounder back.

Carter doesn't really have the legs to skate as a center anymore. If he's playing wing, he doesn't have to play a full 200 ft game. Having Miller as a 3c let's us have 3 scoring lines again AND gives us options if someone gets hurt or we need to shorten the bench.

Marino isn’t desperately needed. He would definitely be an upgrade, but to be completely honest, I have analyzed his recent play and his recent stats, and they have been pretty meh. Very mediocre these past couple seasons. I still think he’s a solid second pair d man but value is nowhere near as high is Miller simply due to the fact that Miller has been a top 15 player on the NHL the past 3 years. Kapanen is also useless to us now that we have Mikheyev. He would just be a healthy scratch. Poulin is also not that good. No team in the league would give up a first for him anymore. The Canucks also have 0 space for him. Don’t need them, don’t want them. Marino and 2023 first is the starting place

Pittsburgh needs to give up way more than that to dump Zucker's contract. We're talking a 2nd+3rd at minimum, no pick coming back the other way.

Swap out Kapanen for the 2023 1st - Top 10 protected. Canucks have no need for Kapanen.

Never said he was desperately needed... only coveted. Teams seem to have these thoughts that they want a player and it becomes the only one they need. Then, teams panic and start to offer more for that player than he really worth... to the point of overpayment. That's where I see Vancouver going with Marino. Like I said earlier, the Pens don't want to trade him unless it's for a top forward or unprotected 1st next year (the overpayment). I think Pittsburgh would rather trade Dumo and Petterson than Marino.
