Nyquist is the much more logical player for Columbus to move considering their goal is going to be to compete for the playoffs now and through Gaudreau's contract. Bjorkstrand provides 4 years of play far above the $5.4 aav of his contract and is a part of the core leadership group. It's unlikely they're going to be moving him.

While I completely agree a first from a rebuilder like Nashville (or sort of one at least that could be a lottery team) is really tempting

Are you sure you're thinking of the right team? Nashville has a pretty strong chance at making the playoffs this year. Especially since they kept Forsberg and added McDonagh.

I don't know how this really "solves" the issue without moving another piece, unless Laine would consider a $7M AAV deal.
