Forgot to send Colorado's 2nd round pick in 2024 to WPG from MTL

Girard doesn’t move the needle for Winnipeg. They are probably gonna ask for Slafkovsky and Dach or you won’t be able to close the deal. Not saying that’s fair to Montreal btw. Just saying they will want a lot since he is under control for two years.

The only reason Colorado considers moving Girard is to clear space to resign Kadri so they are not taking any salary back. So take out Dvorak and add the Florida 1st at least.

I'd consider Guhle and a 2nd/low 1st

Not sure Montreal would give that up but value wise; it sounds about right.

O I doubt they would, but that's the price in my mind. Blue chip prospect and a high pick. None of this Dvorak and a 2nd nonsense

The reason they deal Girard is that the Avs won without Girard in the lineup. They have proven to themselves that they don't need him. I'm not saying they want to trade him, but if the desire is to open up some cap room, moving Girard and getting back a prospect or two would seem a smart approach.

Byram's health, while appearing to be improving, is still a question mark IMO. Keeping Girard, while a luxury, gives them an insurance policy. Not saying I would keep him, but there is rationale there. As for dealing him, it's definitely possible, but it's going to be expensive. He's signed to a team-friendly deal for the next five years, so Dvorak and a 2nd isn't going to cut it.

Never said it would cut anything. I just said Girard is a tradeable asset.

Don't think Hughes would even consider this. He traded for Dach so would have 4 serviceable centers. Add Armia and three picks and that's paying way too much for Dubois.,
