NJD can’t afford to add Kerfoot with the Bratt contract situation. Nor do they need him. The Nylander trade is a gross underpay. Tkachuck is younger and a way better player than Nylander and someone will pay fair value for Tkachuck on the open market.

Coming from a Nucks fan who dislikes CGY and Tkachuk, this is so far from Tkachuks value its crazy. Make both picks first rounders and its closer.

Nylander is a point per game player with cost certainty for 2 years at a bargain number.

Tkatchuk has no cost certainty, with no guarantee that he will even stick around longer than this upcoming season.

Calgary also doesn’t really have any leverage seeing as he wants out/arbitration so despite Tkathuk being the better player, their values are a lot closer than it seems.

That’s my look at it anyways..

People on here fall in love with every star player that’s available but a guy who wants 9+ million and wants to walk to UFA next year isn’t getting an 80+ point player under contract and two additional firsts

especially when the 80+ point player under contract has performed better in the playoffs, funny how it doesnt get brought up

Yep. The lack of value people put on any leafs trade is always amusing. No one outside of Matthews has any worth to anyone. I guarantee you another team trading their young 80 point player on here (i.e debrincat) doesn’t need to add multiple firsts

i'm not even saying Nylander>tkachuk because id still take tkachuk, but the difference between the 2 is nowhere near the absurd things ive seen on here
