Why are the oilers adding Detroit would be winning the trade 1-1.

You’re adding a 3rd to dump Foegle.

But Foegele (82, 12-14-26 -9) at $2.75M is similar value to Zadina (74, 10-14-24 -24) at $2M. So it doesn't add up.

Zadina has considerably more potential than Foegele. Zadina is a cheaper replace for Pulujarvi, who’s going to make over 3 million aav. If you keep him then Yamamoto goes

I'm not sold on Zadina's potential, and I'd rather have Puljujarvi at $3M+ than Zadina at $2M. If it's cap space they're worried about, why wouldn't they just trade Foegele? Then they'd get to keep both Puljujarvi and Yamamoto, and the team would be much better off.

Nothing about this makes sense for Edmonton.

I just don't see why Edmonton should have to pay to move a decent bottom six forward.

I don't see Detroit doing this either. I think Yzerman signs Zadina for a year and if he's still struggling he gets traded at the TDL.
