I think they would prefer like svechkov over askarov also the value still just isnt there.

    Maybe something like
    Granlund+Svechkov+ Tomasino +23 1st + 24 2nd would work

I thought so too, but hard to balance fair value & other GMs knowing if CGYs bind reducing the overall return. I realistically feel they only get 3 pieces back

I think this too. Calgary doesn’t have a leg to stand on. You’re obviously gonna take the best package for him but I think other gms will low ball them. Like you don’t wanna take this fine we’ll just wait a year. Calgary is not in a good spot right now.

As far as the trade Nashville would have to move salary to make a trade for tkachuk work. Sad part I don’t look at anyone of our top paid players as negative value to dump.

though tkachuk wants gone calgary still has RFA rights for the next 2 seasons i think, plus with arbitration they will settle a contract so either way calgary doesn't have to say yes to a trade as they can still wait a whole year till next offseason before needing to make a decision

I can definitely see Granlund in any package for RFA rights. Say throw in Granlund & CGY throws on their 3rd?

If he signs a 1 year deal in Calgary he’ll be a ufa next summer meaning Calgary will lose him for nothing if they don’t trade him this year. I don’t know how true it is but supposedly he gave the teams hell sign a long term contract with making It harder for Calgary to maximize his trade value. If true no other team is probably gonna want to give much for a player that is only gonna play 1 year for. So that leaves Dallas, Vegas, Florida, Nashville and St. Louis(who I think he’ll eventually go to). Pretty much tkachuk gave is own modified no trade clause. These 5 teams are gonna have to clear cap to afford tkachuk so Calgary will have to a contract back. Calgary is looking for a top 6 player, a top prospect and a 1st is rumors are true so I see Nashville offering Johansen, Evangelista and a 1st. They might throw in another prospect but not another one of there top prospect like askarov. If they are rebuilding then they can retain a million or even 2 and get some great value back for Johansen.

True that was an overpayment by Florida and everyone was who has a right mind can see it was a major overpayment. On the flip side if they don’t get hubes and weeger signed it won’t look that hot. But they still have the option of selling where huberdeau will bring back at least a 1st and a top prospect. Plus weeger could bring back at least a 1st.
Man if I was Calgary I would go full rebuild if I can’t those 2 signed but they have an owner that is against a rebuild
