Unleash the Kraken

Created by: KrakenTheCode
Team: 2022-23 Seattle Kraken
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 22, 2022
Published: Jul. 22, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
A Killer B line of Burakovsky-Beniers-Bjorkstrand should be fun to watch! I think the Kraken are largely done with big moves this offseason but if they can weaponize their remaining cap space and take advantage of the leaguewide cap crunch to squeeze more assets out of teams they should try and go for it.

I can see Wennberg getting flipped, he still has value and if Colorado doesn't bring back Kadri he could be a fit there. Johnson fits the Kraken as a RD and they can give the Avs some salary relief for a price. The Kraken could also use their remaining cap space to get more assets from a team like Toronto, who are over the cap and still need to sign Sandin.

avs would not be interesting in that deal. Wenneberg is not a 2C, his underlyings have been quite poor for some tine and only got worse in Seattle.

Hes over paid for what he is. JT compher is a very similar player to Wenneberg, why would they trade assets to get a more expensive version of a player they already have. For the cost of the trade, Avs wouldnt add a single thing to EJ for Wennberg, he just is not worth it

Gourde on the other hand, That is a different story

I do think COL is seeing if it is possible to move EJ no matter how much they don’t want to, but this isn’t remotely close to something they do.
