Theres still a minimum of 2 players to be traded

Created by: Whiskerz
Team: 2022-23 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 23, 2022
Published: Jul. 23, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Taxi squad guys are the players that will float between NHL & AHL when there are injuries.

Knyzhov starts in AHL after missing a full season and if he returns to pre-injury form will slide into 2nd pairing with Benning, likely moving Nutivaara out of lineup and Megna down to Barracuda (if he clears waivers).

I could also see the Sharks trading a couple of the bottom 6 guys for picks/prospects, someone like Nieto who may find himself being a healthy scratch in favour of the youth movement.

The Vlasic-Merkley pairing could also be the 2nd pairing depending how ready Quinn thinks Merkley is for bigger minutes and if Vlasic can still handle 2nd pair minutes/assignments. Merkley likely gets to run PP2 fullz
-time now with Burns gone.

Future considerations, Hawks get a player they can flip at deadline in Bonino for like a 5th and a physical 3rd pair D signed for 2yrs that could rebound with confidence and become valuable at deadline as well

Bold of you to assume they'll move vets out for the youth movement with Quinn behind the bench wink

kind of agree with Quinn here expect both Eklund and Bordz to stay in the AHL maybe even Merkley.
but hey with all the positive changes i feel strongly we get a top 7 pick next draft.

i feel like when there isn’t comments it’s because people agree with you. 95% of the comments tend to be disagreements or alteration requests!

I think Eklund will be the one kid in the lineup, Bordeleau will be AHL... Possibly Reedy comes up unless SJ signs another RW.
That way we keep Bonino (for now) and hopefully just trade out Hill & Simek to make the cap work (and Simek is pissed with SJ, so bad situation)

actually correction after looking at my own ACGM... SJ only needs to trade out ONE guy to make the cap work, assuming reasonable signings of our RFAs and Lorentz. Either Simek or a goalie

I'm pretty sure there will be a desperate bidding war for cap space soon. CHI will probably be able to leverage their cap space a lot more effectively than this.

must have missed that post i would have objected to that! we need more defensive minded D and klingberg is not that. he makes Burns look like plus defender lol.

Quinn and Simek might work actually. the issues with Simek was being lied to by management and Coaching. with both gone that bridge should be fixed.

since we have to deal a goalie that should work and we can always burry a D or two if needed.
