What must be done

Initial Creation Date: Jul. 23, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Only thing that weirds me out about this team is Ty Smith.

Is the AHL a place where he can further develop and get his career back on track, or would it be holding him back? I can see the argument for both. But you have to think if Hextall is trading Marino for him he wants him playing in the NHL. Does this mean another dman trade is coming? Who knows.

What are your thoughts on the D situation?

Smart move is dumo
Hextalls preference is pettersson
My bet is on POJ as a throw in for a deal to help the bottom-6

I think pettersson is a great partner for petry. He Is the perfect defensive defensemen outside of a lack of physicality, which Petry makes up for. Petry can jump up in the play while pettersson stays back, once the opponent has control in our zone petry can be the physical presence.

I would be surprised if they buyout Zucker. I think POJ and Blueger could be the targets for top 6. I'm not against giving Blueger the 3C role to start the year and Carter on 3RW. But I doubt they will do that.

I would be surprised if Smith gets sent down. He's played basically 2 full seasons in the NHL, he's much more established than POJ. Wouldn't surprise me to see POJ moved for a forward.

If POJ is moved that would eliminate the smith problem. But if they can’t move a LD, smith will have to be sent down

The issue is they have no cap space to fit that forward if POJ is the one being moved
