I just realized there are players being drafted now that may not have been born last time the leafs made it to round 2
I guess they will just have to settle with watching a Leafs team with 2 first line allstars in Matthews and Marner and the winner of the MVP Heart and Pearson trophies in Matthews.

You left out the part where they still lost in round one
Does it really matter if you lose in round one, two or three............in the big picture ......no one cares except some people on CapFriendly.
Or you know every fan base…how far you make it in the playoffs is a gauge for whether your team is headed in the right direction. The leafs have shown time and time again they have a roster built for regular season success and get worked over by much deeper teams in the playoffs when match ups become more important and you need depth scoring as your top scorers care more likely to be shut down in some key situations

The Leafs losing in a tough 7 game series to the Tampa Lightening was a flip of the coin and losing to Montreal was the result of losing both Tavares and Muzzen and Price playing lights out goal.......so Leafs are not going to over-react and just stay patient with the game plan and will rewarded.

It really won’t I see the exact same issues as every year: no bottom six. Add to the fact there progressively made their goaltending worse I predict no playoffs this year
Hey what's the last team to not win a playoff series in almost 2 decades then go and win the cup?
Especially in the utterly stacked division the leafs are in

How did those accolades work out for them this year ohh that's right 1 and done

So are you coming up with next year's excuse in your head already.
So interesting question especially with the Tavares signing..outside of Boston who was the last team to have a top 5 cap hit i a cup winning roster from a free agent signing? I’m thinking none since bruins.
